ArtWalk 2019

Grand Haven ArtWalk is an annual collaboration of artists, local businesses and members of the lakeshore community in a collective celebration of art. Artists from the local area and beyond, participate in an art competition in the following categories: drawing, painting, photography, sculpture (3D) and specialty media. ArtWalk takes place Sept. 17 – Oct. 7.

Along with daily public judging and juried voting, ArtWalk boasts special events that highlight the artists, venues and friends of ArtWalk. There is a special hands-on art day for kids of all ages, free food and live music; 4th grade field trip to experience performance art; a youth competition for artists ranging in age from zero to 18; a musical concert at the new Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium; and a host of special events at the Loutit District Library.

Tuesday, September 17                 Official Opening of  ArtWalk 2019

Ribbon cutting at 6 pm – near The Depot

Saturday, September 21               Family Art Day
11am – 2 pm at Marina Parking Lot. Everyone is invited to create their own masterpiece. Watch for event updates.

Saturday, September 21               Artist Market

11am – 4pm at the Train Depot (Next to the new Waterfront Stadium)

Saturday, September 28               Creative Centertown

A creative station at the Momentum Center with special events and demos in Centertown.

Sunday, September 29                  Music and Artist Meet and Greet

Please join us downtown for great live music, a chance to tour the venues and see inspiring art, and an opportunity to meet the artists and dialogue with them about their work. Live music performed by Sweet Lou and & the Savages plus wonderful art will be in harmony at this event on Sunday, September 28, from 1pm until 4pm at the Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium.

Thursday, October 3                      ArtWalk 2019 Awards Ceremony
6 pm at the Grand Haven Community Center, 421 Columbus – join us as we recognize the winners of ArtWalk 2018.

Friday, October 4                            First Friday Art Celebration – See the Winners
Visit our local galleries and participating merchants for special arts experiences.

Wednesday, September 18                Youth Art Competition begins
