EVENT INFORMATION

Same as previous years – you may enter 1 piece in each of 5 categories.  Registration is $25 per entry.  You can enter one piece per category – painting, photography, drawing, mixed media, and sculpture(3D).  So, upwards of 5 entries total, as long as each one is in a different category. An individual artist can only WIN a prize in one category in the popular vote competition.

Venues Seeking Artists

As in previous years, ArtWalk will NOT match businesses and artists. It is the Artists responsibility to arrange for their work to be displayed at a participating venue.  It is the Venues responsibility  to provide the names of artists that will be displaying in their space.


IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER FOR ARTWALK 2018

August 22, 2018 – Deadline for Artist Registration

September 8, 2018 –  ArtWalk Kick-off with Art in Motion (TBD)

September 22 – 24, 2018  – Deliver, set-up art for display at venue(s), per agreement w/venue

September 26 – October 6, 2018 – ArtWalk Event

September 29 & 30, 2018 – Artists Meet & Greet Concert & Artists’ Market (optional)

October 4, 2018 (Thursday) – ArtWalk Awards Ceremony & Reception

October 7, 2018 (Sunday) – Clean up /Remove art (at 5 p.m. unless other arrangements are made)


ART CATEGORIES

Category 1 – Drawing/Collage/Print/Print Media

Basic Definition: Implying volume, space and color with the use of line.

Category 2 – Painting

Basic Definition: Artwork would include any paint or any mix of paint media.

Category 3 – Photography

Basic Definition: Traditional photo process, digital, and computer enhanced.

Category 4—Sculpture (3-D)

Category 5 – Specialty Media

Basic definition:  Any media that cannot be defined by the other four categories.  Inclusive, but not limited to jewelry, fabrics, fiber, etc.


ARTIST APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. Obtain and complete Artist Registration (see above for link to the PDF)
  2. Return registration to Grand Haven Main Street with the registration fee (see address below)
    1. Entry Categories can be TBD at registration but Grand Haven Main Street must be updated by 8/22/2018 with the chosen media
    2. You may submit your registration without obtaining a venue.  YOU ARE ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING YOUR VENUE and your venue must be updated with Grand Haven Main Street by 8/22/2018

ARTIST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where do I obtain a registration form?

The registrations can be picked up at Grand Haven Main Street or by printing this  2018 Artist REGISTRATION – all registrations are due by 8/22/2018

Is there a fee to enter my work?

Yes, there is a $25 fee per piece entered

When can I begin contacting venues?

As soon as you are registered.

How do I find out which venues are participating?

A complete list of participating venues can be easily found at  www.ghartwalk.com under Artists & Venues in the  Venues Seeking Artists Tab or by clicking the following link.

What happens after I confirm my venue?

Contact Grand Haven Main Street with the venue information via phone or email.  Both vendor and artist need to complete the Artist and Vendor Hosting Agreement form Artist and Venue Hosting Agreement and return to Grand Haven Main Street via email or postal mail.  THIS MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED BY 8/22/2018 

How many pieces can I enter in ArtWalk?

When do I need to have my piece installed at my registered venue?

All art pieces need to be at the designated venue on or before September 24. 2018

Can I sell my work during the event?

Yes, you are allowed to sell your art during the event. However, ALL artwork must remain in the venue until the close of the event.
