ArtWalk is excited to tell you about the changes to the Artist registration process.
First of all, all artists will register online through Café – Call for Entry. It’s easy to use and free to set up your account.
2. Upload one or two images of each piece you plan to enter to create a portfolio. You must have a portfolio with Café in order to apply to an event.
3. Choose an ArtWalk category to enter and select one or two images of the piece you plan to enter. The images can only be selected from your café portfolio.
4. Contact a venue! They’re listed on our main site under Artists & Venues, and Venues Seeking Artists.
5. The Venue will provide ArtWalk with the list of artists the venue is hosting.
6. Bring your art to your venue shortly before September 21st.
7. Attend ArtWalk! Win prizes! Explore more art downtown!
8. Pick up your piece at the conclusion of the event.

Same as previous years – you may enter 1 piece in each of 5 categories. Registration for each piece is also the same at $25. You can enter one piece per category – painting, photography, drawing, mixed media, and sculpture(3D). So, upwards of 5 entries total, as long as each one is in a different category. An individual artist can only WIN a prize in one category in the popular vote competition.

As in previous Years ArtWalk will not match businesses and artists. It is the Artists responsibility to arrange for their work to be displayed at a participating venue. It is the Venues responsibility to provide the names of artists that will be displaying in their space.
The deadline for artist registration is August 14.
Important Grand Haven ArtWalk Dates, 2016:
September 21 through October 9 ArtWalk Event
June 10: Registration opens for Artists, Youth Competition and Venues
September 1: Any registrations received after this date will not appear in the ArtWalk map or other printed material.
September 1: All paperwork, artwork titles, etc. must be turned in
September 20: Artwork must be in place
September 21: Voting begins at noon
September 25: Artist Meet & Greet
October 6: Awards announced
October 9: ArtWalk ends, artwork can be removed
Category 1 – Drawing
Basic Definition: Implying volume, space and color with the use of line.
Category 2 – Painting
Basic Definition: Artwork would include any paint medias. 2D works that hang on a wall or displayed on an easel.
Category 3 – Photography
Basic Definition: Traditional photo process, digital, and computer enhanced.
Category 4—Sculpture (3-D)
Basic Definition: Artwork would have height, width and depth. Inclusive of, but not limited to, the following materials: stone, cement, wood, metals, plastics, fibers, etc.
Category 5 – Mixed Media
Basic Definition: The combination of media that are traditionally unrelated, such as stone and paint, cloth and mosaic, etc. OR any media that cannot be defined by the other 4 categories (Mixing different forms of painting, such as oil and watercolor, does not imply mixed media.)

How many pieces can I enter in ArtWalk?

Can I sell my work during the event?
Yes, you are allowed to sell your art during the event. However, ALL artwork must remain in the venue until the close of the event on October 9. WE ALSO ENCOURAGE YOU TO DISPLAY WORK DURING THE ARTISTS ART MARKET ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1, LOCATED IN DOWNTOWN GRAND HAVEN. THERE IS NO FEE TO EXHIBIT, BUT WE DO ASK FOR A 15% DONATION FROM YOUR SALES OF THE DAY TO GO BACK INTO THE ARTWALK FUND.
