What are the dates of the Grand Haven ArtWalk?

September 23, 2015 through October 11, 2015

Important Dates:

September 23, 2015 through October 11, 2015     ArtWalk Event

April 15, 2015     Registration opens for Artists, Youth Competition and Venues

September 1, 2015   Any registrations received after this date will not appear in the ArtWalk map or other printed material.

September 1, 2015  All paperwork, artwork titles, etc. must be turned in

September 22, 2015 Artwork must be in place

September 23, 2015 Voting begins at noon

September 27, 1-4pm Artist Meet & Greet

October 8, 2015 Awards announced

October 11, 2015 ArtWalk ends, artwork can be removed

 

How do I register to have my artwork in the event?

Complete the Artist Registration & Agreement Form  and Artist Payment online OR by printing the form and either e-mail, fax, mail or deliver the form and payment back to Grand Haven MSDDA located at 20 N. 5th Street, Grand Haven, Michigan 49417.  Make payments payable to Grand Haven MSDDA. Contact information can be found below.  There is a $25 registration fee for each piece entered.

 

When can I begin contacting venues?

April 15th. Venue registration begins April 15 and will close on July 1, 2015.

 

How do I find out which venues are participating?

A complete list of participating venues can be easily found at  www.ghartwalk.com under Participating Venues Tab.  You can also visit the  Grand Haven MSDDA website to view local businesses.

 

How many pieces can I enter in ArtWalk 2015?

You can enter one piece per category – painting, photography, drawing, mixed media, and sculpture(3D). So, upwards of 5 entries total, as long as each one is in a different category. An individual artist can only WIN a prize in one category in the popular vote competition.  There is a $25 registration fee for each piece entered.

Can I sell my work during the event?

Yes, you are allowed to sell your art during the event. However, ALL artwork must remain in the venue until the close of the event on October 11, 2015. WE ALSO ENCOURAGE YOU TO DISPLAY WORK DURING THE ARTISTS ART MARKET ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3, LOCATED IN DOWNTOWN GRAND HAVEN. THERE IS NO FEE TO EXHIBIT, BUT WE DO ASK FOR A 15% DONATION FROM YOUR SALES OF THE DAY TO GO BACK INTO THE ARTWALK FUND.

 

What is the process for acquiring a venue?

Once you have registered for ArtWalk 2015, download the Participating Venue list from the ghartwalk.com website or contact the Grand Haven MSDDA office for a copy of the list.  The Participating Venue list will be available beginning May 15, 2015. Visit, call or email a venue of your choosing and ask if it is possible to display your entrie(s) there during ArtWalk 2015. The venue  contact will most likely want to see examples of your work before making a decision. You will have to arrange where and how your piece will be displayed at the venue. Once you have reached an agreement, fill out the Artist & Venue Agreement form which can be found online at the website.  You may submit the form online or turn it into:
